Music Teacher, K5-5th grade, Crestview Campus

Part-time, 10-month position, Aug 1, 2019 – Jun 1, 2020; hourly or salary will be adjusted based upon duties and hours; pay adjusted based on experience and degrees.

Job Description: The teacher must have experience and training in to music education. Teacher must help students learn both attitudes and skills, and participate in music activities that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible Christian men and women to the praise and glory of God. Follow prescribed school policy for discipline procedures. Employ a variety of instructional aides, methods, and materials that will provide or creative teaching to reach the whole child: spiritual, mental, physical, social, and emotional.

Music Teacher: Teach basic music theory, music appreciation and present two music programs during the school year to assigned students in the designated grade. Integrate biblical principles and the Christian philosophy of education throughout the musical activities. Keep proper discipline on the school premises. Prepare students for and supervise during fine arts competitions.

Required Personal Qualities: Must be member at a local church which has fundamental beliefs in agreement with historic Christian orthodoxy. Must enroll their children in Rocky Bayou Christian School or approved Christian venue. Be in whole-hearted agreement with the school’s Statement of Faith and Christian philosophy of education. Demonstrate the character qualities of enthusiasm, courtesy, flexibility, integrity, gratitude, kindness, self-control, perseverance, and punctuality.

Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Music Studies or related specialty or have obtained a Bachelor’s degree that includes 18 semester credit hours in music education or related specialty. Must complete the Philosophy of Christian Education requirement. Demonstrates proficiency in the computer programs used to update student grades, and database software. Ability to use technology in lesson plans.

Substitute Teacher, K5-12th grade (short and long-term)

Part-time, 10-month position, Aug 1-Jun 1; $10/hr pay rate. Non-specific bachelor degree is required. Hours on school days: 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Substitute will follow guidance from teacher on integrating biblical principles and the Christian philosophy of education throughout all activities.  Substitute will keep proper discipline on the school premises, follow prescribed school policies for discipline procedures, and employ a variety of given instructional aides, methods, and materials to provide creative teaching to reach the whole child: spiritual, mental, physical, social, and emotional.

Bus Driver

Substitute drivers and Route drivers (10 month position, Aug 1-June 1); $30 each route (AM or PM); $60 both routes (AM and PM). Hours: 6:00am – 8:00am and 3:00pm – 5:00pm (based on route).

Job Description: Responsible to ensure assigned bus is mechanically sound to drive route; pick-up/drop off assigned students safely and in compliance with all DOT rules and regulations and safety guidelines. Ensure accountability of all assigned students; ensure order and discipline is maintained on bus.

Job Requirements: Current Commercial Drivers’ License Class B (CDL) (with air brakes) or willing to get trained and take test to obtain CDL. (Training would be accomplished as soon as possible.) Medical physical required to obtain CDL license. RBCS reimburses all fees upon completion and passing of all tests. Must complete the Philosophy of Christian Education requirement.
