Admission Process

Learn more about the admission process for RBCS and gather the required documents to get started.

Please let us know if your student has received ESE services and has a current IEP or is on the 504 Plan before beginning the application process so that we may better meet your needs.

Step 1: Create an Account and Begin Online Application

Step 2: Upload all Required Documents

All required documents should be uploaded into your application before it is submitted.  If not, there may be a delay in the processing of your application.

Step 3: Submit Application

Once all information has been input and required documents uploaded, submit the completed application.

Step 4: Grade Placement Testing

  • Group test - $60
  • Individual test - $95
  • Grade placement testing will be scheduled when all necessary documents have been submitted to the Admission Office.
  • The California Achievement Test (CAT) is required for new 2nd through 12th grade students, unless current results are available for the CAT, SAT-10 (Stanford 10), Terra Nova, PSAT, ACT or SAT.
  • Listed below are document deadlines and their corresponding test date.  If you do not have all necessary documents submitted by the deadline, your test date will be pushed to the next available date.

  • If your student requires an individual test, the Admission Office will contact you to schedule a test date.
  • There are 30 spots available for each group testing date and those spots will be first come, first served.
  • Additional testing dates may be added if necessary.  The Admission Office will notify families of any additional dates.

Step 5: Family Interview

After all applicable documents and test results have been received and processed, the principal will review the application and schedule a mandatory family interview.

Step 6: Admission Decision

The applicant's family will be notified of one of the following:
  • Acceptance and placement in an agreed upon grade
  • Acceptance and placement pending CAT test results
  • Acceptance and placement in the Wait Pool
  • Acceptance and placement cannot be made at this time
Wait Pool status is good for the current school year until February 1, 2017, at which point applications will be accepted for consideration for school year 2017/18.

Step 7: Financial Arrangements

If accepted and placed, the Admission Office will contact you for a financial appointment. If your student is placed in the Wait Pool and an appropriate space becomes available, the Admission Office will contact you promptly.  If the applicant is offered enrollment status and declines, the applicant will be removed from the Wait Pool.
