Alumni Spotlight: Drew Kirkpatrick ’13
From the classrooms of Rocky Bayou Christian School to engineering rockets, Drew Kirkpatrick’s journey is nothing short of inspiring.
After graduating from Rocky in 2013, Drew began his college career in West Palm Beach at Palm Beach Atlantic University, where he met his wife, Erin, and laid the foundation for his studies. He later transferred to the University of Central Florida to specialize in aerospace engineering—a decision that would propel him into a career quite literally aimed at the stars.
Today, Drew lives in Huntsville, Alabama with his wife and their three young children, ages 4, 2, and 7 months. Professionally, he has already made remarkable strides. He began his career building BE-4 mainstage engines before being promoted to Manufacturing Tech Lead. Now, he works on BE-7 lunar landing engines, leading the process of building and integrating them into rockets—an achievement that places him at the forefront of space exploration.
Looking back, Drew credits Rocky with preparing him for the challenges ahead “I’m thankful for the way Rocky prepared me,” Drew reflected. “It gave me the tools I needed to thrive in college and in my career.”
