At Rocky Bayou Christian School, our preschool for 3 and 4 year olds is referred to as Kindergarten. That is because we provide your early learner with a true educational experience teaching them more than the average preschool program in these incredibly formative years.
Kindergarten at Rocky serves students aged 3-5 and provides foundational learning opportunities for advanced, traditional, and special needs children. With a structured environment, loving and nurturing teachers, and small class sizes we prepare your student to excel spiritually, academically, and socially. A student must be independent in the bathroom in order to be a candidate for our school, and with rolling enrollment we are able to admit students during the school year based on availability and maturity.
Our 3-year old class exposes students to phonemic awareness and alphabet knowledge, as well as introductory numeracy instruction. In the 4-year old class, students will continue to build pre-literacy and numeracy skills, as well as focus on writing numerals and letters. We strive to provide a strong foundation for students as they move toward independent decoding and math skills.
Kindergarten classes for our 5 year old students include reading groups, number sense and pattern recognition. Unstructured play time is scheduled during the day, and field trips are included in your tuition. Hands on activities, STEMM opportunities, engaging music class twice a week, art exploration and a biblical worldview woven throughout every subject every day make our Kindergarten program the best choice for your curious student.
Our Kindergarten classes fill up fast. If you are interested in having your 3, 4, or 5 year old attend Rocky, we highly recommend you schedule a tour now to reserve your child’s seat.

A Message from Crystal Murray, RBCS Assistant Principal – Niceville Kindergarten
Welcome to Kindergarten! I have had the pleasure of serving at Rocky Bayou Christian School for the past nine years. I have over 20 years of experience in both public school and private Christian schools, with a focus in kindergarten for 17 of those years.
It is my desire to serve the Lord faithfully by raising up the next generation to know Christ and to use their strengths and talents for God’s kingdom purposes. As an elementary assistant principal that works directly with the kindergarten department, I consider it a great privilege to partner with parents to shepherd young hearts and minds. Our kindergarten team of teachers are dedicated to provide a safe and nurturing environment that trains students in righteousness and instills a love of learning. Our focus is to equip these young students for the future that God has prepared for them.
I encourage you to take a tour of our campus. You will be able to observe in classrooms and see first-hand the quality teaching of our staff, as well as the implementation of a Biblically-based curriculum. You can discover the difference a passion for Christ, a safe environment, and an integrated Biblical worldview can make in the lives of your children!
