Academy Registrar

Full-time, 12-month position, hourly position, $12.00 – 15.00/hourly rate, dependent upon experience. Healthcare and employee benefit package available.

Job Description: The Registrar shall reflect the purpose of the school which is to honor Christ in every class and in every activity. Motivate students to accept God’s gift of salvation and help them grow in their faith through their witness and Christian role modeling.  Enter schedules in database for every student grades 7 -12 received from the guidance counselor and senior advisor; giving priority seating, to seniors, then juniors, sophomores, and finally freshmen. Update transcripts with any grades and credits awarded via Florida Virtual School, dual-enrollment courses, or other online programs and file reports in student’s cumulative file.  Update transcripts for 9-12 graders regarding credit recovery and grade forgiveness.  Update and maintain courses, room numbers, and teacher assignments in database each semester; produce progress reports/report cards; assist Guidance Counselor and Senior Advisor in maintaining all student records; Testing Coordination.

Required Personal Qualities: Must be member at a local church which has fundamental beliefs in agreement with historic Christian orthodoxyMust enroll their children in Rocky Bayou Christian School or approved Christian venue.  Must be in whole-hearted agreement with the school’s Statement of Faith and Christian philosophy of education. 

Job Requirements: High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Must complete the Philosophy of Christian Education requirement.  Must be proficient in word processing, email, and web page maintenance.  Punctuality, a professional appearance, critical thinking skills, a good attitude, and the ability to prioritize tasks is essential.

Bus Driver

Substitute drivers and Route drivers (10 month position, Aug 1-June 1); $30 each route (AM or PM); $60 both routes (AM and PM). Hours: 6:00am – 8:00am and 3:00pm – 5:00pm (based on route).

Job Description: Responsible to ensure assigned bus is mechanically sound to drive route; pick-up/drop off assigned students safely and in compliance with all DOT rules and regulations and safety guidelines. Ensure accountability of all assigned students; ensure order and discipline is maintained on bus.

Job Requirements: Current Commercial Drivers’ License Class B (CDL) (with air brakes) or willing to get trained and take test to obtain CDL. (Training would be accomplished as soon as possible.) Medical physical required to obtain CDL license. RBCS reimburses all fees upon completion and passing of all tests. Must complete the Philosophy of Christian Education requirement.

Substitute Teacher, K5-12th grade (short and long-term)

Part-time, 10-month position, Aug 1-Jun 1; $10/hr pay rate. Non-specific bachelor degree is required. Hours on school days: 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Job Description: The teacher will help students learn attitudes, skills, and participate in activities that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible Christian men and women, to the praise and glory of God.  Substitute will use the materials provided by the teacher in the designated grade to instruct assigned students. Substitute will follow guidance from teacher on integrating biblical principles and the Christian philosophy of education throughout all activities.  Substitute will keep proper discipline on the school premises, follow prescribed school policies for discipline procedures, and employ a variety of given instructional aides, methods, and materials to provide creative teaching to reach the whole child: spiritual, mental, physical, social, and emotional.

Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree is preferred.  Demonstrates proficiency in the computer programs used to update student grades, and Database software. Ability to use technology for regular communication.  Must have children, if applicable, enrolled in Christian Education.

Development Assistant

Part-time, 20 hours/week.

Job Description: This position will provide administrative support to the Director of Development with a goal of achieving financial sustainability by partnering with donors.  The Development Assistant will assist in the planning and the implementation of fundraising campaigns, write letter of appeals and other content that will encourage action, call donors to set-up meetings, manage the Alumni Program, create and oversee the donor nurture program, assist the Director of Development with other duties and support as needed, and reconcile budget accounts on a monthly basis and donor receipting.

Job Requirements: The Development Assistant shall possess basic computer skills to include Word, Excel, and Outlook. This person must be highly organized, possess a high level of task execution, and able to work independently. Database management and fundraising experience is preferred. The ability to write effectively and manage time is essential.

Event Coordinator

Part-time, based on event schedule. Occasional mornings and evenings depending on the event.

Job Description:  The Event Coordinator will coordinate all special events, and volunteers for each event. Provide sufficient resources to ensure the school can achieve its mission, set priorities to meet annual goals and assist in the planning, management, and implementation of events. This includes but is not limited to, open houses, school visits and tours, re-enrollment, brochures, etc.  The Event Coordinator will assist in setting and maintaining professional writing and design standards for school communications, manage the volunteers associated with events, media relations including advertising and press releases in local newspaper, local media coverage of school events and ensure that special event goals are established, planned and approved. The Event Coordinator is responsible for hosting and running special events.

Job Requirements: The Event Coordinator shall possess basic computer skills to include Word, Excel, Publisher, Adobe, and Outlook. This person must be highly organized and able to work independently. Photoshop and event planning experience along with a degree in marketing or communications is preferred.
