from parents…
“We love RBCS. We can be confident that our kids’ individual educational needs won’t get lost in the shuffle.”
“I absolutely love that my children are being fed God’s Word every single day and are being poured into by Godly teachers and staff that truly care about their spiritual condition. “
“God led our family to Rocky and to say it has been a blessing is an understatement! The joy my son has experienced going to kindergarten is what every parent prays for in a school. He loves his teacher and friends and continues to grow and learn so much daily. It’s amazing to know my son is part of a nurturing and loving environment where he not only learns strong academics but the love of Jesus.”

about Jan Term…

“I have always loved the idea of Jan term. I think it’s amazing for kids to see things and experience things firsthand to ignite passions within them. However, this Jan term was not just an experience for my student, but also for myself. He decided to do an internship with a septic tank company. Truth be told, the owner and his son became our family at a Sept wedding this year. I hoped he would learn discipline. He is a super smart boy! Like his sister, I have no doubt he can do anything he puts his mind to. School, however, has never been his passion. (Unlike me – I would be a professional student if that was a job.) So as a mom, the realization that he might not want to go to college is scary. How will he survive? How will he make enough to pay his bills? Will he live with me forever? However, this week and last week have taught me so much! First, my son is a hard worker. He has been working 10-hour days, traveling to Navarre and Destin from Crestview with a crew, learning to install septic tanks, and has been on the business end of a shovel. He comes home dirty and exhausted. And he loves it! He loves working with his hands. He loves being in different places. He loves the crew of men that are teaching him new things daily. (I’m going to be completely transparent – I thought he was a little bit lazy based on his room and lack of ambition for household chores.) I figured it would be 2 weeks on constant arguing over waking up at 5 am, having to go to work, etc. I was wrong. My son has gotten up every day with his alarm, got himself ready and drove to work. He has taken care of his own breakfast, his own lunch. He has been responsible, mature, disciplined and I am in awe of his work ethic. I’m beaming with pride. I have learned through this experience that he is going to be a functioning member of society. He is going to go into the world and spread God’s light. He is going to be okay. And maybe, just maybe, he won’t live with me forever. (I’m laughing here.) So, I must stop and say, “Thank you, Rocky Bayou!” Through this experience you have taught this mother so much about my son. “
from a Rocky alumnus…
“I could not have asked for a better High School. The teachers knew my name and knew me well. Every day it was like greeting people you couldn’t help but look up too. The students at Rocky are the best of the best. Top tier kids. Something that I truly value about Rocky Bayou, is that you truly feel the love of Jesus Christ in everything that is done. You can see His light and glory shining from the faces of Staff and Students alike. Thank you Rocky, I’m proud to call myself a Knight.”
from a Rocky teacher…
“The sweetest part about teaching in a Christian environment is the opportunity and freedom to pray. Starting every day, committing our day to God and laying our burdens down to our Savior is precious time in our classroom. My students know every day they will have the opportunity to share what’s on their hearts and build relationship with each other and with me as they openly share their concerns and cares for the day. Whether that’s a pet who is sick or a parent who is traveling or a big soccer game – those prayer requests are glimpses into the hearts of my students. It is a gift and an honor to cultivate that trust. When a student before a major test has anxiety, I have the freedom to pull that student aside and say, “May I pray with you?” I love the look of surprise from the student as he processes: “Really? You’d be willing to do that even on a busy day?” To take that moment and pray peace, joy, and life over that student is one of the greatest privileges as a teacher in a Christian environment – a privilege that has a lasting impact well beyond our classroom.”
